Palais Royale
(BAPS) Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
TARIC Islamic Centre
Chinon CE-4
Purchased off Craigslist from an enthusiastic original owner, for a song.
Included: leather Chinon case and two lenses (50mm f/.19 and 28-80mm f/3.5 macro, compatible with my Pentax mounts).
It was purely a sentimental purchase -- I shot with a Chinon years ago.
Pentax K-1000
Shooting with David's film camera from college, since he dug it out of the attic for me in August 2005.

The Exiled Party for JEAR [Toronto]
[more photos to come...]
A little TTFN for Jose-Jose, Ewa, Anf, and Rosie while they have some adventures further afield.
The flags represent where people are from, where they've just come from (teaching abroad, etc.), cultural influences, multiple nationalities, etc. The party celebrates cultural exchange and travel, and the flags reflect the cosmopolitan nature of Toronto.

I get to eat quite a bit of what I photograph! Lucky me!
Morocco [2007]
I visited three imperial cities -- Marrakech, Meknes, and Fez -- and the capital city of Rabat. It was my first time on the African continent.
Morocco is a photography paradise, full of colours, textures, patterns, dichotomies, and people with faces like maps of the world.

Aretha Franklin [Toronto]

Aretha Franklin in Toronto!
The Queen of Soul performs a mini-concert on Bloor Street in front of Holt Renfrew as part of their holiday promotional campaign.
At 65, this lady's still got the pipes!
Street Photography
I prefer to be a pedestrian in a city rather than a driver. A pedestrian with a camera at all times, because there's always something interesting to shoot.
Aviator Wall of Fame
Because everyone should be a barnstormer at least once.
David's beloved aviator goggles, helmet, and scarf, which I wear every time I go up in Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome's 1929 New Standard biplane over the Hudson River (about two hours north of New York City).

Quadrini-Presta Wedding [Toronto]
Saturday, August 18, 2007
The family hired two photographers and a videographer to shoot the occasion.
I invited myself along as a photographer-in-training. It was an incredible learning experience (three cheers for big, traditional Italian weddings!), but also one of the most fun and relaxed nuptials I've ever attended.
Congratulations Marina and Ross!
(More photos to be added.)
Sunshine Coast, BC [August 2007]
I took Michael and Melissa with me to visit friends during the Civic Holiday long weekend.
Iceland [2007]
June 2007
I wanted to go somewhere near the Arctic Circle for my birthday. Somewhere unusual. I wanted to see the Midnight Sun.
Iceland was the ticket!
República de Cuba [2006]
December 24-31, 2006
The best way to finish off a very difficult year was to visit Cuba!
The country is utterly fascinating, and I can't say enough good things about the people.
My First Flight: David's 40th Birthday
It's David's birthday today, he would've turned 40 years old. To celebrate his life, I went flying...
It was planned as a scenic flight but my instructor made an appeal on my behalf and I logged my first time as a student pilot and was given a discount.

I drove from Toronto, Ontario to Scranton, Pennsylvania, to return to the hospice where my husband passed away at 1:15am on Dec 18, 2005.
Mercy Hospice, One Year Later
Mister Hugh
Hugh Fielding
1991-2006
Hugh was David's buddy for nearly 15 years, and was with him right 'til the end.
You couldn't ask for a more devoted pet.
I lost Hugh to illness on July 26, 2006, and the House of Fielding feels very, very empty without him.
Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, NY
A living museum of antique airplanes, situated in beautiful Dutchess county, upstate New York.
www.oldrhinebeck.org
My husband's most favourite place in the world, and the site where I scattered his ashes on May 30, 2006, what would've been his 39th birthday. His beloved pet of nearly 15 years, Hugh, passed away in July 2006 and I also scattered his ashes there.
I make a seasonal pilgrimage to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome to fly in the 1929 New Standard biplane, wearing David's aviator goggles and helmet, and take in the atmosphere of the barnstorming era.
a paean to flight
Aerials, GA aircraft, commercial aircraft, vintage aircraft at museums, it's all for the love of flight.

St. Lawrence Market [Toronto]
There's a special place in my heart for a real market (not to be confused with that soul-sucking place called the modern shopping mall).
Rapturous sights, sounds, smells and perhaps best of all -- no corporate security guards telling you that you can't take photographs of the merchandise.
