Longer Days, Shorter Nights

February 21, 2013 by Gail

Toronto sunset

This was the state of the sky at 5:34pm today, which gives hope that winter is on its way out and spring is on its way in. Now that it’s nearly March, can I hope for fewer days of wearing winter boots? I’ll bet Vancouver already has flowers; Toronto won’t see them for weeks yet.

My biggest (or at least one of my biggest) wishes this winter has thus far held steady: no illness. Managed to stave off colds and viruses all winter, which is a resultant mix of being super-lucky, being super-vigilant with handwashing, and gaming my immune system with Cold-FX just in time.

I hope I didn’t just jinx myself, there.

  1. The one thing I missed when I was roaming around the UK for 3 weeks was winter boots. Need to acquire a pair soonish.

+1 on this post. I’ve been seriously (due to driving) longing for lighter evenings! Hah. And I thought it was just me :) I even thought about how fast you’d have to go to keep up with the sunset (take onboard factors like time of year, long/latitude/GPS, etc). I was *that* bored on the motorway at the time! :)
