After YEARS of resisting, I finally caved today and bought hair dye for the first time in a decade (!), and for the first time I set out to colour over the white hair.
Yes, after years of saying I didn’t care and in 2008 even photographing the white patches, I decided in 2013 that the white brigade was setting up an Occupy Scalp encampment and I had to put a stop to it.
Let’s see how much time it takes before they take over again.

Now this should be interesting…
I’m curious to see the outcome.
I did it for a little while, myself, and then I switched to going to my hairdresser. It was just too messy.
I’ve decided that 42 is too young to have this much gray. If I had cool looking gray I might go with it, but it just washes out my hair so everything looks mousy. So, every 2 months or so, I pick up a box and color it myself. Lately I’ve been going with reddish hues, and liking the results.
Funny thing is that one time at my hairdresser while she was styling me, another stylist came along and complimented her on the great color. She knows I’m a DIY colorist, so we just had a good chuckle about that.
I’m waiting for my first one, and I think it would be any day now, but I already colour my hair because I’m not a fan of the dowdy, plain natural colour it’s become as I’ve aged. I periodically remember to check my roots, but nothing yet…
