GO Trains And Fort York

Sick of all the cameraphone shots yet? I know, me too… but that’s the way the week’s been going — long hours at the office and walking home, rinse, repeat. I’ve been considering switching up to the iPhone for the picture quality improvement, but I’m still allergic to long telecom contracts and I’m not willing to pay full price for the iPhone. So until then, it’s what you see here: photos that really do look like they’re from an old phone.

I cut through historic Fort York today because the gate was open, and I made it through to the other side just before I got locked in. I’ve never actually visited the museum before, but at least I know where the entrance is now!

You’ll probably also notice a proliferation of commuter GO Train photos that I shot mostly from the Bathurst Street bridge, which reminds me that I’ve never taken the GO Train before, either. Something else on my To-Do list before I move out of Toronto.

I took an almost completely different route today, since there are a multitude of paths I can take home. Today’s route took me past a fence with sections full of combination locks. A bit of a mystery — why are they all combination locks? Why no regular padlocks? And whose are they?

“before I move out of Toronto”…. moving?

    • Gail says:

Sure, eventually. I’ve never lived in one city more than 10 years (Vancouver, Winnipeg were the two where I made it to 10 years) and I’m already halfway to that here.

If you never consider moving from where you live, there is no incentive to explore and get to know your own city.

If you have the time you should do the GO Train to Niagara on a weekend, been thinking of doing that myself for a while.

Back when I was at Niagara-on-the-lake in February, someone at work told me about the GO trains running there in the summer. I’m always driving through Niagara, so this may be a nice alternative one day.

they look like lockboxes, the kind that realtors use to leave a key at a house they are showing. perhaps they are keys to something nearby?
