Last night I went to a Canadian Cancer Society-sponsored event that was a primer for Relay For Life. Yes, I’m doing it again this year with The Brides’ Project but I’m still fixing up my page so I’m not quite ready to link to it yet. But at the event I did learn of a volunteering opportunity that I’m especially excited about as it allows me to help cancer patients directly and very tangibly: I’m applying as a volunteer driver to transport them to their treatments. I spoke to a cancer survivor last night who’s seen this program in action and speaks highly of it. I have to fill in some forms and meet qualification criteria, then go through training and hopefully begin soon.

I’m really excited about this! Will link to my Relay For Life page as soon as it’s done…
