back in the game

I don’t know how, but I managed to sort out my denial of access privileges as a result of my 10.4 (Tiger) to 10.6 (Snow Leopard) migration. I did all the usual fixes, and nothing worked. Suddenly, this evening, everything worked. My temporary workaround — because the work just piles up otherwise — was to use the external drive until I had time to find a solution. And now I don’t have to? I didn’t want to speak too soon, but hopefully all’s well that ends well.

The chess game was from the summer, which seems like a LONG time ago now… but if you’re feeling a little deja-vu like I did when I hit publish on this post, it’s because I wrote a post with the same title, about the same subject, the same day I shot these chess photos, back at the end of June!

I took this (rather crappy) cameraphone picture just before leaving the house in Ottawa, because the scene was just too ridiculous!

  1. backpack with hardly any clothing, plus an external drive, bag of cables and chargers
  2. laptop bag with 5+ year old PowerBook G4
  3. bag of groceries
  4. camera bag (camera body, two lenses, flash, diffusers, charger, spare batteries, and other accessories)
  5. iMac purchased in Scarborough enroute to Ottawa
  6. Milo the curious cat

Sorry, Milo, I didn’t mean to say you looked ridiculous. (Milo’s a tuxedo cat like Beano, but that’s about where the similarities end.)

Another of my usual post-and-runs, but at least I got the picture off the phone!
