Actually, all the photos in this post are from brunch at Natalia’s on Sunday, because that’s the only day I took pictures this weekend. Aye, I know, it’s a travesty! I spent many hours planted in front of my computer, working, but I did make it to Friday Dinner Venue #6 — Canyon Creek Chop House in Etobicoke (oh no! a chain!) — and later to The Rhino for a beer, where my little LED flashlight came in handy to illuminate their terribly-hard-to-read beer menu. (Black font on a dark blue background? Whose un-bright idea was that?)
I worked all through Valentine’s Day, which made life a little easier for me in several ways.
By the time Sunday rolled around, I was ready to break out of my self-imposed deep digital work spell and head to Natalia’s for brunch. It would take a lot for me — a lot more than work, that’s for sure — to turn down an invitation to brunch, no matter if it’s dining out or in. Bring on the brunch!
I don’t know if it was delirium or what, but it was as if we were breathing laughing gas at Natalia’s. Everything was funny — nay, hilarious for some reason. These are only some of the photos, but there’s a whole series I shot on Natalia’s bed that deserve a video replay (because the shots are similar). It sounds salacious, but no clothes were shed. I stayed at Natalia’s long after everyone left, printing photos for her on my portable photo printer and chatting. It was a relaxing Sunday filled with food and friends, the best kind of Sunday there is.
