Blech, says Xena, who’s only there for the catnip. I bought this scratching post more than a month ago in the hopes that the cats would leave the furniture alone, but it doesn’t get so much as a glance. Even covered in catnip, it doesn’t have any appeal to either Beano or Xena and they stroll right by it to reach their claws to the recliner. Cats are so fickle.
After I inject Beano like I did yesterday, he gets nauseous and within 15-20 minutes brings up his last meal so I try and contain him in the kitchen. He always looks sad and pathetic and in need of some catnip before the retching, so this time I put some on this scratching post — the one they totally ignore — and tried to get him to notice it. Fat chance!
