Bathroom Queue

I have had a housemate since February, so I always close the door when using the bathroom. When I open it again, I have to be very careful because there are two creatures just on the other side and at the beginning I’ve bumped the door into one or the other.
At first I thought it was because they wanted to use the litterbox — Hugh made a habit of using the litterbox whenever David or I used the bathroom next to his box — but now I think it’s only because they want to come inside and nose around what I’m doing in there.
For those who have pets, is it like this at your house, too?
