I love making CD mixes, but I haven’t done it for ages. (Right, Helma?)
I’m playing the one I made for Garry’s birthday, and I thought I would publish the playlist. I have to give credit to Johnathan Thompson (David’s fellow art program classmate from college) for about half of the songs, because he’s been creating ocean/sea/surf/water themed playlists for years for their annual trips to the Outer Banks (North Carolina).
In fact, listening to Chez T’s Fruitti di Mare volumes while mixing Garry’s CD has inspired me to FINALLY get over to the Outer Banks, myself, this year. It’s one of David’s favourite places — not only for the sandy beaches and ocean (he swam like a fish) but of course as an historic site of the Wright brothers’ famous first flight at Kitty Hawk. David was excited to show me the area of Chesapeake Bay on the way south. It would make for an excellent road trip! I’m thinking September, after school resumes…
Anyway, here’s the playlist:
“Jump in the Line” really got the joint jumpin’, and one of my favourite tracks is “The Mariner’s Revenge Song” by The Decemberists. If you like the playlist, let me know and I’ll send you a copy!
