I was speaking to someone a short time ago about this relatively recent style/method (?) of shoot called Trash the Dress, for which there are many references if you input that phrase into any search engine. For illustrative purposes, I’m going to link to a video of a Trash the Dress shoot where you can see (basically) how it’s done:
Del Sol Photography – Trash the Dress video
Sol Tamargo and Matt Adcock of Del Sol Photography specialise in destination weddings and are known for their Trash the Dress sessions in Riviera Maya, Mexico. They met through their profession of wedding photography and got married last year! Congratulations! Both are excellent photojournalist-style photographers with their own studios in the USA and Mexico, and maintain their own blogs as subs of their main merged site.
One reason why I’m linking to them is because they share a lot of their photos online and also give tips which help other photographers learn. I don’t expect them to share exactly how they work their magic, because that wouldn’t be fair. Experience and skill takes years to build, but just showing their images is a very generous way to spark ideas and show the creative side to wedding photography.
