  1. Can You Get ANY Closer?

    can you get ANY closer?

It’s a good thing you’re not Xena-phobic, har har. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)

I’m having a rough week, I need as much humour as I can muster.

Erin, who is organising Arliin’s memorial this weekend, came by tonight and we rough-drafted a handout which I am planning to finish as soon as I can and post in PDF here. There’s only so much we can coordinate for Saturday, so I am going to create a page on this website for Arliin that anyone near or far can view, complete with photos and a playlist of some of her favourite music. We are aware that not everyone can make the memorial, so this is one alternative.

  2. Xena Says Hi

    much to Xena's surprise
    much to Xena’s surprise

I officially met Xena on December 2, the first weekend that Toronto got a massive dump of snow. Arliin had called me from a store near her place because she’d come across a big glass and laminate shelving unit in front of a house for sale while she was on her way to work. It had a “FREE” sign and she needed some help getting it home first because there were already interested parties circling the block, waiting for her to abandon her post.

We shoved everything in the back of my car and I slowly drove the short distance through the snow to her loading dock while she followed behind me on foot to make sure nothing slid out. When we took everything up to her floor, Arliin tried to coax both Xena and Beano out to say hello but only Xena emerged into the hallway — Beano was hiding. Of course, I had my camera with me, but I couldn’t get a good shot of Xena because she was racing around so fast.

Arliin, the kitties are amusing as ever… and Xena says hi. We miss you!
