Brunch calls, so I will post some photos of Old Montreal taken yesterday:

jump!

These little kids were jumping and dancing to a live music performance, a sight that was irresistible for the camera. I loved the little guy’s jaunty cap.

01 Jul 2007 Happy Birthday Canada!

July 1 is Canada Day, but I wanted to post a photo I took in Halifax harbour one week ago because I like how the flag looks:

Happy Birthday Canada!

One reason why I chose to live in Eastern Canada is to give myself opportunities to explore more of this side of the country. I’ve lived in BC, AB, SK, MB, and now ON, but I’ve always wanted to visit Quebec and the Maritimes. It’s my dream to take VIA Rail across the whole country and drive the rest of the way, but I need a big chunk of time for that. Meanwhile, I’ll content myself with road trips when time allows.

I’ll see more of you yet, Canada! I may leave a lot, but I’m still Canadian through and through, no matter where I am.

01 Jul 2007 L’Oratoire Saint Joseph du Mont-Royal

I’m on the flakiest wi-fi connection ever here at our hotel, and so I’m only able to upload these two photos successfully:

L'Oratoire Saint Joseph du Mont-Royal

Bonnie and I ventured around Old Montreal during the day, and met up with my cousin Wagner after dinner for his Night Tour Special* around the city. We spent some time on Mount Royal to check out the views, and eventually found the lit cross that marks the top (is that the top?) after wandering trails in the dark.

Bonnie and I both woke up around 5 o’clock this morning — it’s nothing short of a phenomenon that we lasted past midnight today!

* I made that up.
