I took some photos at lunch and on the way home from work to see how the camera performed in various conditions. I’m pleased to see it does pretty well in low light, which I often shoot in:
The kit lens is 18-55mm, so I checked it out at the widest angle, macro distances, and increasing/decreasing EV.
After FedEx delivered the camera yesterday afternoon I wanted to take some test shots before hitting the road. I recruited the one available person, a reluctant subject rather than a volunteer. Kitty was even less willing and disappeared, leaving Helma to be my photo subject in the backyard:
When I first heard Amy Winehouse on CBC Radio, I knew I had to listen to the rest of her latest album. Her voice has that world-weary quality I love in music from the 60s from the likes of Aretha Franklin et al, which makes it hard to believe Amy Winehouse is only 23. I downloaded “Back in Black” off iTunes for $7.99, burned it to CD, and put in the player for the trip down to PA.
The CD was on heavy rotation both ways, and I’m still not sick of it. There are a couple of tracks that don’t stand out for me, but most of the songs are catchy and capture different moods.
