Today was one of those days where I wanted to do a whole lot of nothing (the totally blah weather outside wasn’t helping), but I thought I should try and salvage it by browsing through my photo archives to put together a wedding gift for next month. I came across this photo from the summer of 2005, taken during one of the Celebration of Light fireworks competition nights. It was in my last batch of Vancouver photos; a whole year passed before I was able to return.
When I looked at the picture the song title from the musical “Annie” popped into my head, which should come as no surprise since I must’ve watched it a hundred times (at least!) as a youngster in Winnipeg. I rooted around YouTube for a video and found this little homegrown clip, which at first glance looked like a parody because the singer is, at times, incomprehensible, but I watched it all the way through and I think this was made in earnest! You decide:

According to the forecast the weather should improve tomorrow. I’ll get my camera out and get shooting again, which should chase the blahs away.
