An abrupt halt on the path to the subway upon leaving work, so I could take a photo of this yellow plant. The colour was so vivid amidst the grey of wet concrete, it stopped me in my tracks. It could be more in focus, but I was hurrying to get home to pick up the car to go to flight school. Will try again another day.

On Top of the World
April 26, 2007 by Gail
May 1, 2005. Our highest altitude in the Tri-Pacer together.
Ironically, I nearly didn’t attend my meteorology class… because of the weather. It was ugly when I left — rain and strong wind. But thankfully it eased off while I was leaving the city centre and eventually stopped raining.
The instructor said earlier, before the break, that he loved flying above the clouds. He said once you get above the clouds and fly around and on top of them, that’s when you get the true feeling of aviation.
I was getting antsy because I hadn’t heard the results of my echocardiogram last Friday, so I phoned the aviation medical examiner today. His assistant told me they hadn’t heard yet from the cardiologist; the waiting game continues.
