Another full day here on the West Coast. We took the kids to my father’s church, had potluck, and my brother and I went to a memorial service in the afternoon. It was a rather bizarre experience because it started out as a mini high school reunion in the parking lot, followed by the service, followed by a post-service reunion in a roomful of my high school friends’ parents — many of whom recognized me. It was overall a positive experience, but imagine an afternoon of flashbacks and catching up on a decade and a half. I think it’ll take me a couple of days to mentally process it all.
