Havana, Cuba
I love this photo, but I had to take it in a hurry if I wanted it to be natural. It illustrates the choice you have to make sometimes between timing and the desire to make a technically better photograph. If I had stopped to change the settings or composition they would’ve noticed me, but I wanted to take the picture as they were at that moment. Timing won out.

You made the right choice. The photo is just wonderful as is. It is also the type of photo I just love.

Thanks Claude! I don’t know why this photo appeals to me, exactly. I think it’s to do with their postures and their facial qualities. I knew I wanted to treat the photograph, but it took me a while to get it to look the way I saw it in my head.
My generally slow methodologies work best for inanimate objects and landscapes. I know if I want to take more candid photos of people, I will have to upgrade my equipment.

I love the faces of older people. They show a world of caracter. I could look at them for hourers.
