Yesterday I woke up at 3 o’clock in the morning because I’d crashed early on Friday night. I went to my computer and began searching for other aviation museums in the area besides the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. I finally found one that was open all year round, but it was in Campbellford and by Google Maps’ estimation it was about two hours away. By all accounts (literally, ’cause there’s no website) it sounded exactly like the kind of place I wanted to visit yesterday. The sun was shining and the roads were clear. Most importantly, it was Saturday morning and I was wide awake, not hitting the snooze button.
It wasn’t until after I’d set off on my journey that I realised what day it was, and why I felt a bit of deja vu. The photo on the left was taken on December 10 last year. It was David’s last photograph, after we visited the Piper Museum in Lock Haven. I took the photo on the right with my cameraphone yesterday, after visiting the Memorial Military Museum in Campbellford. The photos were taken 365 days apart, within an hour. Both trips on Saturday, similar weather, similar driving times, similar purposes.
