20061013.jpgThe weather’s been rather frigid lately, and it’s time to dig out the scarves from my last couple of winters in Pennsylvania.

There was a snowstorm in Buffalo today!

The transition from a Vancouver winter to one in the mid-Atlantic region was rather abrupt, and David couldn’t understand what I was whining about until he paid a visit out west in Christmas ‘04. At New Year’s he didn’t even need his jacket.

My friend Adrian had a rough first winter in Toronto after growing up in the Lower Mainland, so I’m bracing myself for this one. I moved here in early March, and everyone told me it was uncharacteristically mild. Oh really? Good grief. It barely snowed, but it was brutally windy. Hugh was freaked out by the gale force winds and would scurry under the bed when the windows rattled at my first place in St. Clair.

I think I’ll be OK. I proved I could handle the cold when David and I flew in the winter. I distinctly remember our flight to Elmira/Corning when it was below 20 degrees Celsius and I could see my breath in the Tri-Pacer cabin!

She’s got quite the collection of mugs.

When I was driving out of Scranton on Monday, I passed by one of the many churches and their pithy signs. This one caught my eye:

“Dusty Bibles Lead to Dirty Lives”

I kid you not!
