Definitely not a sports reference!
I snuck up on Lise and Carey yesterday morning at Davie and Thurlow, our rendez-vous point for brunching at English Bay. No photo this time — I devoured the Eggs Benedict before realising I hadn’t taken a shot of it. Instead, I offered to fill the frame with the happy couple and they kindly obliged.
Lise and Carey saw the Dalai Lama yesterday, can you feel the aura of peace and light emanating from the photo?
I wish they would blog some of their funny stories, especially some from work — with unnamed people and companies, of course, except for Howard Stern, Carey!. All the cranks attending the “Compassion” workshop deserve an entry, too, that was hilarious!
It wasn’t until I’d cleared my plate and could eat no more that my trigger finger kicked in again at the Cupcakes display.
It being Sunday, the bus frequency was a little dodgy and I wasn’t at all sure I’d be able to catch the 1:20pm ferry to the Sunshine Coast from Horseshoe Bay. Miraculously I did, and I spent the afternoon on the Sunshine Coast again, accompanying Carol and the girls to check out an art-inspired fundraiser for the Salmon Festival at a local art gallery. The creations on display were impressive, and tempted me to bid on a particular salmon that was made of stained glass. Alas, the bidding was already out of my price range, but if you plan to be in the Sunshine Coast before Wednesday, bid on #45 and let’s swing a deal!
More photos from Gift of the Eagle Gallery.
I returned to Horseshoe Bay in the early evening (that cruise ship is called the Serenade of the Seas on its way to Alaska), so I called up some friends in North Vancouver because I had little opportunity to see them while I’ve been here with all the to-and-fro’ing of the past couple of weeks. Erich picked me up in Horseshoe Bay and I got to see their place for the first time — renovations and all. We wined and dined, dined and wined, with copious amounts of both. Caroline makes a mean French onion soup!
