02 Aug 2006 It’s Cooled Down to 27C!

I’m happy to see on the weather report this morning that it’s not going to be quite the scorcher it was yesterday. Someone at the office reported that with humidity it was up to 49 DEGREES yesterday! (120F!) It was absolutely sweltering! I have A/C at home and in the office, but walking outside felt like entering a convection oven. It was so hot the other day I took the subway partway and walked the remainder, going down into PATH as much as possible. I even stopped for water at one of the emergency cooling stations that have been set up in the city. Yesterday was hotter than the previous day, but I decided I would just stick it out and walk the whole way home (which is what I normally do).
