My friend Michael lives in Wipperfürth, northeast of Köln (Cologne). I was flying to London from Weeze (near the Dutch border), west of Essen, so we headed in that general direction in the afternoon, stopping at a lakes district for some nature walking.
From there we made a pitstop in Essen for dinner before heading to the airport.
My Ryanair flight to London Stansted arrived late, and I just missed the last tube of the day at Liverpool Street Station. ARGH! To make a long story short, I arrived at my hotel at 2 o’clock in the morning and there was no-one at the front desk. I ended up at the hotel next door, where I’m now piggybacking onto someone’s unprotected wi-fi.
