    Quick entry from Starbucks in Rosehill.

    I just arrived in Toronto this morning without incident, and by 1 o’clock, after lunch, I had a verbal agreement on an apartment (!).

    My friend met me at the station and we went to my other friend’s building to pick up the key from the neighbour. I liked the area (within a few minutes of St. Clair metro station), so after lunch with my friend I spoke to the building manager to inquire about availability, and he showed me the only available one-bedroom suite — he just finished painting it. The price is exactly what I’m looking for, but the parking fee seemed a little steep, so the manager said he’d negotiate it for me with the owner. The apartment is available now, so all I’d need is to submit an application form, and it’s mine. I talked to the manager for a while, and told him my situation. He was very sympathetic and said he wouldn’t show it to anyone else, as long as I make a decision by Friday.

    The funny part is this: the name of the building is… GAIL MANOR. Haha! I had no idea until we drove up to the building. “No way!”

    Anyway, I’d better hurry up and look up some information. I should go and get a mobile phone, too, so I have a local number. The roaming fees on my Cingular phone are going to slay me.
