Jehovah’s Witnesses - Am I Going to Get a Call from Prince?
Published by Gail (blogspot) October 28th, 2003 in ReligionI’m listening to Prince’s “Purple Rain” at the moment and lamenting over his conversion to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. There goes all his creative energy. Yesterday I received a random phone call from a Jehovah’s Witness and was surprised that they’ve expanded from handing out pamphlets on the streets to phoning people at home. Maybe they’ve done this for years and I just haven’t been “lucky” enough to get a call. Highly doubtful, though, since I’ve been working from home for years now, so I’d be an easy target. My number’s even in the book — I haven’t resorted to my little trick in the past of listing my phone number under a different name to avoid the ex-directory charge. The Caller ID device is a pretty good filter as it is.
The Jehovah’s Witness guy wasn’t pushy, though, to his credit. When I was a teenager and they’d ring my parents’ bell, it took a lot more effort to get rid of them. This guy kept it short and to the point.
Now, if Prince had phoned me, would he be short and to the point?

If you have directv which you probably can’t (legally) in BC, they are showing a Prince concert for free on the weekends.
Prince, like many other thousands, see the futility of life without the value of Christ sacrifice. Think about this for a minute please: Before Adam and Eve sinned, man had the prospect of living forever on the earth. Genesis says that God said to Adam, not to eat from the fruit “lest you die” (please look it up in your own Bible at Genesis 2:17 and Genesis 3:3,4). Therefore, at that moment of living independent of God, mankind started dying. God, in his wisdom, made available a purchase to buy back what Adam had lost, perfect life on earth forever, and bought back that opportunity for all who accepts it, with the life of Jesus. Since a perfect man lost that opportunity, then he required a perfect man to buy it back. What a perfect opportunity to have what God originally intended for us. A chance to start over. A chance to see what God originally had in mind for humans. Please don’t just pass this information off as nothing, think about it for a few days at least. It does make sense. Please contact the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in your area to find out more. What do you have more more important to work for in life than life itself.
