Only three more weeks…
Published by Gail (blogspot) March 26th, 2003 in Family, Student Life, The Ms…until I can finally get my weary body on that plane to London!
Ah, ’twas best that I didn’t ramble on and on about my trials and tribulations of the past few weeks… the end to the term is in sight, and I’ve been seeing the fruits of my labour recently, in the way of favourable marks on assignments, and glowing commentary on my University Writing midterm. With the poor showing in Philosophy 231 last semester (harbouring an intense dislike for the professor’s instructional style sent my grades spiralling downwards), I was losing confidence in my ability to write, but lately the marks I’ve been getting in BUS 272 (Organizational Behaviour) and ENG 199 (uni writing) have put me back in the game… I have three more papers to write, one in each my three courses, but the BIG ONE, the team paper for BUS 272, is finally out of the way as of yesterday and now I can concentrate on my own stuff instead of trying to motivate other people to interpret and analyze data… I swear, that team paper took a year or two off my life…
Anyway, enough of all that. I should mention some of the *FUN* things I’ve done in March. Fun played second fiddle this month, since I was completely preoccupied with coursework, but I did manage to get out a few times:
I — along with the 3Ms and their parents and Auntie Susan — helped my dad celebrate his 66th birthday on the 8th. Lucky Dad, the kids gave him a Bob the Builder toy! Dad’s sense of humour has really flourished as he’s become older; it’s heartwarming to see the man so devoted to his grandchildren.
We also took a trip to Science World last weekend, and Alvin and Tyrone were able to join us this time! A rare occasion, indeed.
